IWLCA Welcomes Zag Tours as Newest Official Partner

The IWLCA is excited to announce Zag Tours as the Official Partner and Presenting Sponsor of the IWLCA Team and Individual Community Awareness Awards beginning in 2024.

The Community Awareness Award recognizes those student-athletes who have contributed significantly to their community in a given academic year. These students have given their time and energy to support and develop athlete-community relations and have distinguished themselves from their peers.

“We are elated to welcome Zag Tours on as an Official Partner,” said IWLCA Executive Director Liz Robertshaw. “Zag is a well-known and valued company in the lacrosse world providing international tours for teams for decades. Their work combining one-in-a-lifetime experiences for teams with focusing on giving back to the local community is something that made the Community Awareness Awards sponsorship a natural fit. We are thankful for their support and look forward to working with Zag to continue the growth of lacrosse around the world.”

While exposing groups and athletes to new cultures from the inside out, Zag Tours has done an exceptional job enhancing the team bonding experience over the last two decades. By creating travel itineraries that provide hands-on cultural and educational experiences, international playing and training opportunities, adventure activities designed to challenge comfort zones, and more, Zag experiences have changed the lives of many athletes across the globe and challenges personal growth in unimaginable ways.

From Australia to South Africa, and all throughout Europe, Zag Tours has partnerships with more than 25 countries and counting.

Zag Sports Co-Founder and Chief Experience Officer, Jeremy Meccage, expressed his excitement in partnering with the IWLCA stating, “Zag Tours is honored to be an Official Partner and Presenting Sponsor of the ILWCA’s Community Awareness Awards, an initiative that celebrates groups and individuals who have displayed a passion for giving back or growing the game in transformative ways. At Zag, community service is at the core of our programs and organizational DNA. Every one of Zag’s tours includes an opportunity to connect to local communities around the globe through giving back and/or growing the global game.”

For over the last 20 years, Zag Tours has prioritized taking teams to foreign developing lacrosse nations in hopes that the efforts would contribute to the Olympic vision. Meccage added, “In light of the 2028 LA announcement, we are especially thrilled about this partnership opportunity to further shine a light on those in the community who work tirelessly to transform young people through sport which is at the heart of both the Olympic and Zag mission.”
