Who: Women's Lacrosse Student-Athletes from IWLCA Member Institutions
Graduates who have exhausted their eligibility in 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024, as well as current graduate assistants at IWLCA member institutions who are interested in entering the collegiate coaching ranks are permitted to register and participate.
What: Next Up: IWLCA Coaching Symposium
Launched in 2022, the symposium exposes potential current and former student-athletes to the college coaching profession and provides them with the tools, mentors, and career advancement connections. This year’s symposium will feature a combination of previously recorded sessions available to participants on-demand, live sessions and panel discussions highlighting current IWLCA member coaches, and small group participatory workshops designed to allow participants to interact meaningfully with current coaches and prepare for their upcoming job search.
When: Select dates between April 22 and May 13, 2024
Live sessions will be conducted virtually on three scheduled dates (see full schedule below), with additional small group workshops scheduled based on participants’ availability.
Why: To attract and retain qualified women’s lacrosse players to collegiate coaching
Attending the symposium will ensure that new coaches entering the profession have a baseline of knowledge about what it means to be a collegiate women’s lacrosse coach and will also have a network of more experienced and established coaches to support them, along with a group of peers entering the profession in the same cohort.
How: Apply online by April 5, 2024
The symposium will be offered at no-cost to participants. Selected participants will be notified by April 15, 2024, and will need to confirm their participation by April 18, 2024.
Registrations for the 2024 Symposium closed on April 5. There may be limited spots available as the registrants confirm their participation. Please email Danie Caro (dcaro@iwlca.org) if you are interested in being placed on the waitlist.

Pre-Recorded On-Demand Content:
Participants will be provided access to a library of videos they can view on their own schedule.
Participants must agree to make a good faith effort to attend all Symposium sessions when registering to participate.
Facilitator Application
Current IWLCA member coaches will serve as mentors to small groups of Symposium participants, allowing meaningful interactions and sharing expert guidance with participants as they prepare for their upcoming job search.
