Calling all current and former lacrosse players, and coaches!
This is the third year of an initiative sponsored by US Lacrosse and the IWLCA to recruit and train lacrosse players as the next generation of college officials! This pilot program hopes to remediate the growing shortage of officials by recruiting lacrosse players who already have a fundamental understanding of the game.
Benefits for the athlete:
Stay in the game after graduation!
The athlete will receive a rating at the end of the weekend! The rating is used in all 50 states, so she can officiate anywhere upon completion of the training; including current summer tournaments!
HUGE and continuous return on investment! There are plenty of tournaments in the fall, winter and summer, along with high school games in the spring! Tournament fees average $1/minute, with each official averaging six to ten 50 minute games per tournament! (Ex: 50 minute games x 10 games= $500 in one weekend)
Get paid to stay in shape, and improve your lacrosse knowledge.

The IWLCA is also pleased to announce the establishment of the Trina Mangano New Officials Scholarship Program. Trina Mangano is a national and international rated official, serves as a member of the USL Training Committee, is a CWLOA trainer, and is currently serving as the officials’ assignor for the IWLCA recruiting events. She has been instrumental in supporting the growth of the sport through her work training officials. This annual scholarship fund will allow the Officials Recruitment and Development Committee (ORD) to select five new officials each year and underwrite the entire cost of their training, rating, and outfitting.
