The 2018 IWLCA JUNK Brands Champions Cup was held this weekend at two facilities in the Chesterfield County, VA area. The River City Sportsplex and Clover Hill Athletic Complex hosted over 10,000 participants and spectators during the three-day event.

According to Alice Lee, head coach at Williams College, "The Champions Cup brings teams from different areas of the country to one convenient area. It's a great set-up that allows college coaches to see a number of talented prospective student-athletes at one well-run event." Over 500 games were played on 17 fields across the two complexes.

A total of 4,634 prospective student-athletes from 255 club teams representing 25 states from across the country participate in the recruiting tournament. These players have the opportunity to be evaluated by coaches representing more than 250 collegiate programs competing at the NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA levels.

The Champions Cup is the second event in the summer recruiting series managed by Corrigan Sports Enterprises. Next up will be the JUNK Brands Midwest Cup on July 14-15 in Loves Park, IL, followed by the STX Capital Cup, which is back in Chesterfield County from July 20 - 22, 2018.
