The IWLCA National Players of the Week for Divisions I, II, and III, are announced on Wednesdays on "IWLCA Weekly, Presented by ILWomen." WATCH the full episode.

Division I

Offensive Player of the Week

Sam Apuzzo – Boston College

Apuzzo led the Eagles’ with eight points in BC’s 13-12 win over Syracuse. Her five goals were also most in the game, including the Eagles’ final three goals after Syracuse came back to tie the game at 10-10. In an all-around effort, Apuzzo also registered a career-high six caused turnovers – including the game-changing SU turnover with 24 seconds remaining to give possession back to BC which set up her game-winner as time wound down. Additionally, Apuzzo collected a game-high seven draw controls. She scored the game-winning goal with 1.7 seconds left.

Defensive Player of the Week

Erin Leghart – University at Albany

Leghart led the Great Danes to a 2-0 week, notching victories over #20 Notre Dame (10-7) and New Hampshire (14-8). She posted a 7.50 goals against average for the week, along with a .516 save percentage. Leghart also chipped in with eight ground balls


Division II

Offensive Player of the Week

Mackenzie Reh – University of New Haven

Reh led the Chargers to a 2-0 week with a team-best 17 points combined over the two victories. She opened up the week tying her career-high with nine points on four goals and five assists against Southern Connecticut, before capping off the week setting a new career-high mark in goals scored against Stonehill. Included in her four goals against SCSU was the game-winner, and she also registered six draw controls. Against the Skyhawks, her seven goals came on nine total shots on goal, while she controlled four draws. 

Defensive Player of the Week

Hannah George – Le Moyne College

George recorded a 4.50 goals against average, a .700 save percentage and 21 saves in third-ranked Le Moyne’s 2-0 week. She made 11 saves in a 20-1 victory at American International on Tuesday. She registered 10 saves in a 17-8 win over 19th-ranked Bentley on Saturday.


Division III

Offensive Player of the Week

Emma McDonagh – Middlebury College

McDonagh scored eight goals and assisted on four others in a pair of NESCAC wins. She figured in five of the first six second-half tallies in a come-from-behind win at Tufts on Saturday, finishing the game with five goals and three helpers. McDonagh added four points in the win over Hamilton, while also chipping in with a draw control, two ground balls and a caused turnover for the week.

Defensive Player of the Week

Miranda Chrone – The College of New Jersey

Chrone anchored the Lions’ defense in a trio of wins, including two dominating wins over ranked opponents. She held No. 1 Salisbury and No. 21 Rowan to just four combined goals and recorded a 2.67 goals against average and .680 save percentage across the three games. She stopped 17 total shots, including nine against the Profs, three against the Sea Gulls, and five more in a win over Colorado College. The junior keeper also made an impact in the field with 12 ground balls and eight caused turnovers; she scooped six of those ground balls and caused three turnovers in the 10-1 rout of top-ranked Salisbury. Chrone is currently the national goals against average leader (3.64 GAA) and is third nationally with a .596 save percentage.
