SUNY Oswego, Head Coach

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for the position of Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. This is a full-time, ten-month coaching position with benefits.

Description of Responsibilities: Will be responsible for managing all aspects of a competitive Division III Women's Lacrosse program including coaching, recruiting, and program administration.

Responsibilities will also include:

  • All aspects of coaching and administration of a Division III Women's Lacrosse program.
  • Recruiting athletically and academically qualified student athletes.
  • Organizing, scheduling, and conducting practices and competitions.
  • Encouraging a commitment to academic excellence.
  • Managing a budget and fundraising for the program.
  • Ensuring program compliance with all college, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

In addition, will be expected to display a commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree at time of application
  • Previous coaching experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven on-field teaching and player development ability
  • The ability to identify and attract outstanding student-athletes to the college
  • Commitment to student-athlete success and to a competitive Division III Athletics program.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree

Description of Department: The Oswego State athletics department sponsors 24 intercollegiate varsity sports as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
