GRADUATE ASSISTANT—WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEPARTMENT OF ATHLETICS
COMPENSATION: GRADUATE SEMESTER CREDITS PER ACADEMIC YEAR
FUNCTION: Reporting to the Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach, the Graduate Assistant is responsible for assisting in all phases of the women’s lacrosse program. Graduate Assistants will work cooperatively across the Whitworth community to advance the mission of the University. RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED DUTIES:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: · Prospective student-athlete recruiting · Practice and game day coaching · Team transportation and travel planning · Assistance with camps and clinics · Develop and maintain mentoring relationships with student-athletes · Knowledge of and adherence to NCAA regulations. · Assist with fundraising efforts on behalf of the women’s lacrosse program · Perform other duties commensurate with experience.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: · Bachelor’s degree and playing experience at the college or university level desired. · Be accepted into one of Whitworth’s graduate programs. · A personal commitment to the Christian faith and to the integration of faith and learning. · Demonstrated awareness of and commitment to effectively addressing the unique needs and concerns of others from a variety of diverse backgrounds including those from underrepresented racial/ethnic populations. · Demonstrated awareness and commitment to effectively establishing relationships and positive communications across multiple dimensions of diversity including, but not limited to race, gender, physical limitations, class or religious perspectives. · A commitment to the educational mission of Whitworth University as a Christian liberal arts university affiliated with the Presbyterian church. · A valid driver's license. · Compliance with Whitworth’s campus vehicle policy.
