2017 IWLCA Division III Coaches Poll – March 13, 2017
The number one team in the IWLCA Division III Coaches Poll is no surprise this week, as Middlebury again swept all 20 first place votes. Former #2 Cortland, who lost to Franklin & Marshall this past weekend, fell to #7, and allowed Trinity (#2), Gettysburg (#3), TCNJ (#4), and Catholic (#5) to all move up a spot. Franklin & Marshall (2-1) moved up to sixth, and Washington and Lee, York, and Salisbury round out the top ten. Wesleyan (3-0) and William Smith (3-0) make their 2017 debut in the poll at #18 and #19 respectively.
There are some interesting match-ups on tap this week, as several top twenty programs square off. Wesleyan gets to celebrate their arrival in the coaches poll by hosting #1 Middlebury (3-0), Trinity (3-0) takes on #17 Ithaca in a neutral site clash, #14 Bowdoin plays William Smith (#19) and Hamilton (RV) in Florida, #4 TCNJ hosts #15 Amherst, #10 Salisbury visits #16 Mary Washington, and #5 Catholic faces a double test with games against #7 Cortland and #8 Washington and Lee.
