2016 IWLCA Coaches' Polls for the week of March 7
The top spots in the IWLCA Divisional Coaches polls have again been claimed by the 2015 defending national champions. Maryland swept all 20 first place votes to stay on top of the Division I poll for the fifth week of the regular season. In Division II, Adelphi grabbed 20 first place votes to continue their reign atop the coaches poll. And the Red Dragons of SUNY Cortland made it a clean sweep in Division III with a first place nod from all 20 voters.
The IWLCA Communications committee, which oversees the coaches’ polls, has added a new feature for the 2016 season. Following the coaches’ poll release each week, the IWLCA will conduct a “Fan Poll” on Twitter, giving everyone the opportunity to weigh in on the order of the top four teams. The Division I Fan Poll on Twitter (@IWLCA), will be posted on Tuesdays at noon, EST; the Division II Fan Poll on Twitter (@IWLCA), will be posted on Wednesdays at noon, EST; and the Division III Fan Poll on Twitter (@IWLCA), will be posted on Thursdays at noon, EST. Voting for each fan poll will remain open for 24 hours.
The next IWLCA Weekly Poll will be released on March 14, 2016 for all three divisions.
