IWLCA Players of the Week – April 22, 2025
The IWLCA has chosen eight student-athletes for the IWLCA Player of the Week awards for the week ending April 20, 2025. This weekly award recognizes the best offensive and defensive performances by players in Division I, II, III, and the NAIA each week during the regular season.
Offensive Player of the Week
Nikki Mennella – Hofstra University
Mennella earns Offensive Player of the Week honors after a record-setting performance in the Pride’s one-goal win over Monmouth. She registered a career-high 11 points on eight goals and three assists, including the game-winner. Her 11 points set a program record, while the eight goals rank second in school history. Both marks are among the top five in CAA history and top four in NCAA Division I this season. Mennella also led a late comeback, scoring twice in the final minutes, and added four draw controls. It was her 11th hat trick of the season and 21st of her career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Shea Dolce – Boston College
Dolce earns this week’s defensive honors after a dominant showing in the Eagles’ 17-2 win at No. 14 Syracuse. The sophomore goalie tied her career high with 13 saves, posting a career-best .867 save percentage — her second game this season above .800. Dolce helped hold Syracuse to just two goals, the fewest in a single game in program history. She also collected three ground balls and caused a turnover. It marked her seventh double-digit save performance of the season, and she continues to lead both the ACC and the nation with a .556 save percentage.
Offensive Player of the Week
Helen Bae – Maryville University
Bae delivered a standout week for Maryville, totaling 19 points on 13 goals and six assists. She was nearly unstoppable, scoring nine unassisted goals and posting an impressive .938 shots-on-goal percentage (15-of-16). Bae also filled the stat sheet with 19 draw controls, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Her week was highlighted by a dominant performance against Quincy, where she tallied a season-high seven goals and added three assists. Bae was also named GLVC Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts.
Defensive Player of the Week
Marianna Dick – Westminster University
Dick set a new program record with seven caused turnovers in a single game against Fort Lewis and now holds the Westminster records for single-game, single-season, and career caused turnovers — with an impressive 53 caused turnovers this season alone. She ranks first in the RMAC in caused turnovers and third in ground balls. Dick is currently ranked No. 5 in Division II for caused turnovers per game (3.20).
Offensive Player of the Week
Kristen Vaccarelli – Hartwick College
Vaccarelli led Hartwick to a pair of key wins, helping secure a postseason berth with 14 points on 11 goals and three assists, while also contributing 18 draw controls, 10 ground balls, and five caused turnovers. She opened the week with six goals, one assist, 11 draw controls, and five ground balls in a win over SUNY Polytechnic Institute, then followed it up with five goals, two assists, seven draw controls, and five ground balls in a 21-7 victory on Saturday against Keuka College. Vaccarelli also earned her third Empire 8 weekly honor of the season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Genna Gibbons – Tufts University
Senior defender Genna Gibbons single-handedly changed momentum in a close game against No. 13 Amherst late in the first half, as she stripped a clearing pass, picked up the ball and scored 1-on-1 to make it a 9-6 game with 27 seconds left in the frame. Tufts would score twice more in the final 27 seconds and ran away for a 20-9 win in the second half. Gibbons was everywhere as she tallied five ground balls, four caused turnovers and a team-high nine draw controls.
Offensive Player of the Week
Chanterra Allen – Benedictine College
Allen earns Offensive Player of the Week honors after a record-breaking week that powered Benedictine College to the Heart of America Conference Championship. Allen delivered a dominant nine-goal, two-assist performance in the semifinal win over St. Ambrose, becoming the all-time goals leader in program history during the game. She followed that up with seven goals in the championship final, officially breaking the NAIA single-season goals record. Allen now sits at 116 goals on the season — and counting — as the Ravens await their seeding in the upcoming NAIA Women’s Lacrosse National Championship. She currently sits at 254 career goals.
Defensive Player of the Week
Koral Hadac – University of the Cumberlands
Koral was essential in UC capturing the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament Title. She scooped a career-high 13 draw controls in the semifinal win over Georgetown. Hadac finished the tournament with seven ground balls and four caused turnovers, but her impact went beyond the numbers as she shutdown her opponent throughout both games, while she was an essential part of UC defense that limited opponents to 25-50 on clears. Koral was named to the AAC All-Tournament Team.
