IWLCA Players of the Week – April 15, 2025

The IWLCA has chosen 10 student-athletes for the IWLCA Player of the Week awards for the week ending April 13, 2025. This weekly award recognizes the best offensive and defensive performances by players in Division I, II, III, and the NAIA each week during the regular season.

Division I

Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Rachel Clark – Boston College

Clark delivered a dominant showing in Boston College’s 24-11 win over No. 11 Virginia, tying her season and career highs with seven goals and nine points — the highest single-game point total in the ACC this year. Over the weekend, she reached 276 career goals, the most among active NCAA players. Clark currently leads the nation with 71 goals and ranks second with 89 points. The senior attacker has scored at least five goals in nine games this season and is just 13 points away from surpassing her career high. This is Clark’s third IWLCA Player of the Week accolade this season.

Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Maddie Epke – James Madison University

Epke had a standout week, scoring 14 goals and adding three assists over two wins for JMU. She set a career high with eight goals against Temple, tying the JMU single-game record and marking the most goals by any player in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) this season. Epke also dominated the draw circle, totaling 24 draw controls and outdrawing the opponent herself for the eighth time this year. She remains the national leader in draws per game. This is Epke’s second IWLCA Player of the Week accolade this season.

Defensive Player of the Week

Erin O’Grady – University of Michigan

O’Grady stood tall in Michigan’s win over No. 5 Johns Hopkins, making 12 saves to become just the third goalie in program history to surpass 300 career saves (now at 309). It marked her ninth 10+ save game this season and 15th of her career. She also collected three ground balls. O’Grady leads the nation with a .561 save percentage, tops the Big Ten in that category, and ranks second in the conference — and seventh nationally — with 10.4 saves per game.

Division II

Offensive Player of the Week

Tori Wanat – Ashland University

Wanat had a historic performance in Ashland’s first-ever win over Walsh. She tallied nine points and dominated the draw circle with 18 draw controls. Her performance marked the first time since 2022 that a Division II women’s lacrosse player recorded at least 18 draw controls and nine points in a single game. She also earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Offensive Player of the Week honors for her performance.

Defensive Player of the Week

Maria Reeves – Florida Southern College

Reeves had a standout week, helping No. 3 Florida Southern take on two ranked opponents: No. 4 Embry-Riddle and No. 14 Rollins. She recorded her 300th career draw control against Embry-Riddle, then set both a personal best and a program record with 20 draw controls in a single game versus Rollins. Her dominant performances earned her Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors. This is Reeves second Player of the Week honor this season.

Division III

Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Katie Maguire – Lycoming College

Maguire totaled 16 goals, three assists, five ground balls, five caused turnovers, and 22 draw controls during a 1-1 week for Lycoming. In a 23-2 win over Wilkes, she tallied six goals, two assists, two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and 13 draw controls. She followed that with a 10-goal, one-assist effort against Drew — her 10 goals are the second-most in program history and the most in a Landmark Conference game since March 2024. She also added three ground balls, three caused turnovers, and nine draw controls in that game. Her performance also earned her Landmark Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Hope Shue – Middlebury College

Hope Shue powered Middlebury to a 2-0 week with 13 points (7 goals, 6 assists) and 13 draw controls. In a key 16-15 win over No. 2 Tufts, she led all players with eight points and posted a career-high 10 draw controls. Shue currently leads the NESCAC in goals (48), goals per game (3.69), and total points (69). She was also named NESCAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Defensive Player of the Week

Molly Green – Rowan University

Molly Green played a key role in Rowan’s 2-0 week, contributing two goals, one assist, three caused turnovers, nine draw controls, and eight ground balls. The midfielder scored the game-winning goal with 30 seconds left in an 11-10 upset over No. 4 Franklin & Marshall — the Profs’ first win over a Top 5 team since 2010. On the season, Green has 25 goals, 14 assists, and a team-high 61 draw controls. The two-time NJAC Player of the Week is Rowan’s career leader in draw controls (342) and caused turnovers (134) as she set the marks earlier this season.

NAIA

Offensive Player of the Week

Lydia Cornett – Missouri Baptist University

Cornett set a Missouri Baptist women’s lacrosse record with 17 points in a single game, scoring 11 goals and dishing out six assists in MBU’s 25-16 win over Ottawa University. She also contributed 13 draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Her standout performance earned her Heart of America Conference Attacker of the Week honors.

Defensive Player of the Week

Milena Isturiz – Keiser University

Against Ave Maria, Isturiz grabbed eight ground balls which is tied for the second most in program history. On Saturday, she secured her 100th caused turnover in the win over St. Thomas. Isturiz continues to lead the top team in the NAIA in points, goals, groundballs, caused turnovers, and draw controls. With the wins, Keiser finished the regular season undefeated and claimed the Sun Conference Regular Season Title. She was also named Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her performance.
