IWLCA Players of the Week – April 1, 2025
The IWLCA has chosen eight student-athletes for the IWLCA Player of the Week awards for the week ending March 30, 2025. This weekly award recognizes the best offensive and defensive performances by players in Division I, II, III, and the NAIA each week during the regular season.
Offensive Player of the Week
Chloe Humphrey – University of North Carolina
Humphrey continued her hot streak in two road wins over Top 25 teams, No. 3 Northwestern and No. 20 Notre Dame. She tallied 10 goals and five assists in just seven quarters, as the Notre Dame game was cut short by one quarter due to weather. Against Northwestern, she recorded four goals and four assists in a 15-12 victory, with the four assists marking a career best. Then, at Notre Dame, Humphrey posted six goals and an assist in a 14-3 win. She has now scored six goals three times this season and has recorded hat tricks in 10 of 11 games. Her 50 goals rank fourth nationally and second in the ACC, while her 64 points are ninth nationally and fourth in the league.
Defensive Player of the Week
Lexie Coldiron – Rutgers University
Coldiron recorded six saves, including her 600th career save, in a 12-8 win over No. 21 Ohio State. She also contributed two caused turnovers, two ground balls, and secured her 150th career ground ball, playing a key role in the Scarlet Knights' success against ranked opponents. A graduate student, Coldiron leads the Big Ten and is second nationally with 123 saves, also leading the conference with 10.25 saves per game.
Offensive Player of the Week
Ashleigh Rothe – Grand Valley State University
Rothe helped lead the Lakers to two league victories this past weekend, defeating Concordia-St. Paul and Northern Michigan. In the two games, she recorded 13 points on nine goals and four assists. She added six draw controls, three groundballs, and one caused turnover. On Friday, Rothe tallied a hat trick and two assists in the 17-10 victory at CSP. On Sunday, she tied a career-high with six goals, dishing out two assists, and grabbing six draw controls to help the Lakers defeat Northern Michigan in overtime. This season, Rothe leads GVSU in goals (28), assists (14), points (42), and draw controls (42). Rothe was also named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for a second time this season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Heather Hawkins – Colorado Mesa University
Hawkins was exceptional in goal for the Mavericks, anchoring her team to victories over CSU Pueblo and Fort Lewis. The freshman opened the week with a stellar performance against the ThunderWolves, allowing just two goals and making nine saves for a solid .818 save percentage. She followed that up with another strong showing against the Skyhawks, registering seven saves and helping propel the Mavs to a 17-6 win. The Palmer Lake, Colorado native has logged 441:44 minutes this season and currently ranks second in the RMAC with a 10.32 goals-against average. She also sits second in the conference for save percentage (.503) and third in saves per game (8.56). She was also named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Riley Block – Lycoming College
Block lead the Warriors to a 2-0 week with 12 goals and two assists. She became the eighth player in program history to reach 200 career points, highlighted by a standout performance against Elizabethtown, where she scored nine goals and added two assists, tying for second-most goals in program history. Block also contributed seven draws, three caused turnovers, and three ground balls in the win. She also added three goals and three ground balls in a dominant 18-0 victory over Elmira. She was also named the Landmark Offensive Player of the Week for her performance. This is Block’s second IWLCA Player of the Week accolade this season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Caroline Pratt – Williams College
Pratt made 36 saves and only allowed 15 goals for a .706 save percentage, as she went 3-0 in goal for the Ephs. The senior goalie made a career-high 13 saves and only allowed one goal in 45 minutes of action during a 15-2 win at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Monday. She made 11 saves and only allowed six goals in a 16-6 win at No. 11 Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday. Pratt stopped another 12 shots in a 10-8 NESCAC triumph over Connecticut College to close out the week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Isabelle Vrensen – Keiser University
Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week, Isabelle Vrensen put the Seahawks on her back and led them to victory over the No. 1-ranked SCAD Savannah Bees on Sunday. Vrensen tallied a season-high seven goals in the game and added an assist. She is now up to 33 goals on the year while leading the undefeated Seahawks with 51 points.
Defensive Player of the Week
Michelle Farrell – Indiana Institute of Technology
Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, Farrell was stellar in a pair of WHAC wins last weekend. The sophomore scored 14 goals and tallied six assists for 20 total points. She also added 11 draw controls to her stat line. This is Farrell’s third IWLCA Player of the Week accolade this season.
