IWLCA Players of the Week – March 4, 2025
The IWLCA has chosen nine student-athletes for the IWLCA Player of the Week awards for the week ending March 2, 2025. This weekly award recognizes the best offensive and defensive performances by players in Division I, II, III, and the NAIA each week during the regular season.
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Ashley Mackin – Johns Hopkins University
Mackin earned Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors after an outstanding performance in a 19-10 victory over Georgetown, where she recorded 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists). Mackin's seven assists and 13 points are both career highs and are one shy of the Johns Hopkins' all-time single-game record. In addition, the 13 points are the most in NCAA Division I since 2022. Mackin followed up with another stellar effort, scoring four goals in Saturday’s victory at No. 16 Stony Brook.
Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Maddie Epke – James Madison University
Epke’s standout performance in James Madison's 17-16 victory over No. 5 Florida earns her this week’s Co-Offensive honor. Epke led the Dukes with four goals on five shots and added two assists, recording her third hat trick of the season. She also set a season best with 18 draw controls. Additionally, Epke was named American Athletic Conference Attacker of the Week.
Defensive Player of the Week
Summer Agostino – Clemson University
Agostino led all players in ground balls and caused turnovers in Clemson's highest-ever ranked win, defeating No. 6 Syracuse 9-8. She tied her career and season highs with five ground balls, matching her own record for the second-most ground balls in a single game in Clemson history. This was her fourth game of the season with at least three caused turnovers.
Offensive Player of the Week
Ariana Tucci – East Stroudsburg University
Tucci recorded six goals and five assists in ESU’s 17-10 win over Lock Haven University. The sophomore attacker also added three ground balls and two caused turnovers to her stat line.
Defensive Player of the Week
Lindsey Shimborske – Mercy University
Shimborske had a standout week, recording a team-high 26 draw controls, six ground balls, and five caused turnovers as Mercy went 1-1. The senior defender started the week strong, leading the team with nine draw controls and four caused turnovers in Mercy’s 11-10 win over No. 16 University of New Haven.
Offensive Player of the Week
Gabrielle Nicolosi – SUNY Maritime
Nicolosi set three program records and contributed to all but three Maritime goals in an 18-6 victory at Ramapo on Saturday. She broke her single-game mark with nine assists and also scored six times to finish with 15 points, another school record. Nicolosi became the Privateers' all-time leader in points with a third-quarter goal and ended the game with 252 career points.
Defensive Player of the Week
Olivia Hall – Bates College
Hall caused a career-high five turnovers and recorded a career-high five ground balls in an 11-3 road win for Bates over Hamilton on Saturday. Led by Hall, the Bates defense held Hamilton to just three goals, the fewest goals allowed by Bates in a NESCAC game since 2021.
Offensive Player of the Week
Brooklyn Hill – Reinhardt University
Hill scored a total of five goals, including the game-winning goal during the team’s double overtime win over No. 9 Life University. Hill also added three goals in the Eagles’ dominant game against Warner.
Defensive Player of the Week
Koral Hadac – University of the Cumberlands
Koral anchored the No. 3 Patriots' defense to a pair of wins on the week, tallying nine caused turnovers, 13 ground balls, and eight draw controls. She recorded a season-high eight ground balls and five caused turnovers against No. 8 Indiana Tech, before following it up with four caused turnovers and five ground balls against (RV) Marian. Koral also notched her first goal of the season, finishing with two points on the week as UC improved to 6-0 on the season.
