Tampa Claims Unanimous No. 1 Spot in the 2025 IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll

The 2025 women’s lacrosse season has officially begun, and the first IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll of the year has ranked Tampa at No. 1. The defending champions earned the unanimous top spot and kick-started their 2025 campaign with a dominant non-conference road victory over Rollins. The Spartans will play their first home match on February 22 against Adelphi, a repeat of last year’s NCAA Championship Final. Adelphi enters this season in the No.3 slot after their NCAA final’s appearance last season.

Pace enters the season at No. 2, and will begin their 2025 run with a home matchup against Roberts Wesleyan on February 20. The Setters finished last year 21-1, going perfect in NE10 play.

Rounding out the top five are Florida Southern at No. 4 and West Chester at No. 5, both of whom will be looking to make a mark as the season unfolds.

In total, 25 teams are represented in the poll, with voters—representing college coaches from across the nation—reflecting on the latest developments in women's lacrosse. The rankings are based on weekly performances, with the poll set to be released each Monday throughout the season.
