IWLCA Acknowledges 2024 Academic Merit Squads

The IWLCA has announced four teams as 2024 IWLCA Academic Merit Squads, a designation awarded to the top team in each division and the NAIA with the highest team GPA for the preceding academic year. Each team listed was also recognized as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad this past year.

DIVISION I: Eastern Michigan University  
DIVISION II: Mercy University   
DIVISION III: Pomona-Pitzer Colleges  
NAIA: University of the Cumberlands

Eastern Michigan University posted the highest GPA among the 101 schools in Division I that recorded a team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the academic year. The Eagles finished with a 3.738 GPA overall.

In Division II, Mercy University achieved the Merit Squad distinction by surpassing 66 other Division II institutions that had also received Honor Squad recognition. The squad finished the academic year with a GPA of 3.728.

The top GPA in Division III was claimed by Pomona-Pitzer Colleges for an impressive third year in a row. The Sagehens led the division by toping 152 institutions with a 3.825 overall GPA.

The University of the Cumberlands leads the NAIA Merit Squad honorees, achieving the highest team GPA among the eight teams recognized as Academic Honor Squads this year. The Patriots earned an impressive overall GPA of 3.67.
