Summer Series Closes with Capital Cup Showcase

 

The IWLCA Capital Cup, held in Federica, Delaware at the DE Turf Complex from July 19-21, marked the conclusion of the IWLCA summer tournament season.

One of the IWLCA’s premier National events, hosted by Elite Tournaments, delivered a highly competitive experience with 150 teams participating in 202 games across 12 fields.

“This summer went extremely well, and we are pleased with the level of competition and support that the tournament continues to receive year after year,” stated Caitlin Schmelz, Vice President of Lacrosse at Elite Tournaments. “We are incredibly grateful to the athletes, coaches, spectators, referees, and vendors who contributed to the success of this summer series. Elite Tournaments is committed to providing the best possible tournament experience for everyone, and we look forward to continuing our work with the IWLCA series.”

This year’s event attracted 2,310 prospective student-athletes from 36 states and featured 190 IWLCA member coaches, providing valuable exposure for the game’s future stars.

The tournament also featured 45 officials.
