North Stars with the Tilt for 2024 IWLCA All-Star Weekend

 

The Division I South Stars claimed the first All-Star game, while the Division II and Division III North Stars rallied back to earn the tilt in the win column after an outstanding weekend of women’s lacrosse. The 2024 IWLCA Senior All-Star games were played at Bill Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, June 1.

Division I

DIVISION I

The South All-Stars claimed an 11-7 victory over the North under the direction of Shelley Klaes (James Madison University Head Coach). Mina Scott, an attacker from Arizona State University, was named MVP after leading the offensive charge for the South, recording an unofficial three goals in the matchup. Fairfield University head coach Laura Field served as the North team coach.

Division II

DIVISION II

The North All-Stars, coached by Taylor Bastien (Bentley University) defeated the South team 13-9. Despite the North taking home the ultimate bragging rights, South All-Star and goalie, Megan Biase (Wingate University) was named the MVP of the contest after having a dominant presence between the posts during her playing time. Biase recorded an unofficial seven saves. Nine different players scored for the North, highlighted by Remi Reinhardt’s (Georgian Court University) three goals. Kristen Nicholson (Kutztown University) was the South team's coach.

Division III

DIVISION III

Coached by Messiah University’s Heather McKay, an extremely competitive matchup favored the North Stars in the final moments. With a final score of 13-12, the North earned the victory behind the offensive efforts of MVP Laura Baine, a Wesleyan University attacker. Baine dominated on the field as she tallied an unofficial six goals to power the North past the South’s constant pushback. Nine different players from the South recorded goals to keep the North on their heels throughout the game. University of Mary Washington head coach Maddie Taghon served as the South team coach.
