Midwest, West Coast Cups Mark End of IWLCA Summer Tournament Events

The IWLCA closed out its summer tournament season this past Sunday with the Midwest Cup in DuPage, Illinois, and the West Coast Cup in San Jose, California.

The final two summer events were a success as a combined 110 -plus coaches had an opportunity to scout over 1500 prospective student-athletes in action over the weekend.

Despite multiple rain delays and many field changes, 32 teams were able to compete hard in 52 contests across four fields at the Midwest Cup.

With 55 teams in rotation, the West Coast Cup saw over 950-plus prospective athletes compete across eight fields in 110 games.

"The IWLCA summer events have been increasingly growing in numbers and has been an outstanding avenue for the prospective athletes to showcase their talents," said IWLCA Executive Director Elizabeth Robertshaw. "We look forward to expanding the IWLCA Tournament Series in the years to come as women's lacrosse continues to grow increasingly popular over time."
