IWLCA Tabs Tiffany Taylor as Manager of Communications & Marketing

IWLCA Executive Director Liz Robertshaw has announced the hiring of Tiffany Taylor as the Manager of Communications & Marketing for the association. Taylor’s primary responsibilities will include managing external communications, including the website and social media properties.

“Throughout the interview process everyone was blown away by Tiffany's energy,” said Robertshaw. “She has an “it” factor that resonated with the search committee and showed a clear desire to make a positive impact on the association, our coaches, and the student-athletes they work with.”

Prior to joining the IWLCA, Taylor served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications and Operations at McMurry University. In that role, she coordinated the publicity efforts and game day operations for McMurry's 21 intercollegiate athletics programs. Taylor also spearheaded many of the department's digital projects, including video content, graphic creation, green screen photo shoots, and other similar projects. In her first year at McMurry, the War Hawks’ Athletic Communications staff won the 2020-21 American Southwest Conference Sports Information Department of the Year award.

“As a participant in the 2020 NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar, I had the opportunity to develop and mature, honing my decision-making skills and learning the importance of always making ‘Value Based Decisions.’ These teachings motivated me to move forward with confidence that my career in collegiate athletics is based on passion and desire to see student-athletes succeed, Taylor explained. “I would like to continue forging that path with the IWLCA, which will allow me to utilize the skills and knowledge I have obtained and grow within the athletics sphere.”

Taylor’s career in collegiate athletics began when she served as the Strategic Communications Intern for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in 2019-20. She assisted in maintaining the conference's website, selecting athletes of the week, managing the conference's social media accounts and more. The PSAC is the NCAA’s second largest Division II conference with 18 full-time members, all located within the Pennsylvania Commonwealth. The league services over 7,000 student-athletes and sponsors championships in 23 sports.

Taylor earned her bachelor’s in mass communications with a minor in English from Savannah State University in May of 2013. She was a five-year athletic scholarship student-athlete for the the Lady Tiger Softball Team. Taylor earned a MEAC Championship in 2012, was a two-time Co-MVP, and was selected as an All-Defensive Team Member in 2011. Upon graduating from SSU, Taylor worked as an Assistant Softball Coach at Sol C. Johnson High in Savannah, GA where she also conducted personal training sessions and worked full-time in the automotive industry as an Assistant Branch Manager for Hertz Rental Car.

Taylor successfully moved up the chain of command in the automotive industry where she soon became a Service Manager for Savannah Tire. She held the position of Service Manager for three years before making the shift back into college athletics to pursue a master’s degree in sports management in at Liberty University, graduating in 2019.

“We are really excited to add Tiffany to our full-time staff,” said Liz Grote, IWLCA President, and head coach at Bowdoin College. “Tiffany’s experience both in and outside of athletics has made her a creative, out of the box thinker, and we expect that will translate well to our communications and marketing efforts.”
