Washington & Jefferson College is accepting applications for an Intern Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach. W&J College is a member of the Presidents Athletic Conference and competes in NCAA Division III.

The Washington & Jefferson College department of athletics offers paid coaching internships to provide a hands-on learning experience. The internship provides a stipend, housing, and meal stipend. The program's objective is to use the college's NCAA Division III athletics to give aspiring coaches opportunities to observe, participate and gain experience to eventually become a head coach at the collegiate level. The intern will assist the head coach in all aspects of operating the women’s lacrosse program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recruiting, practice planning, on-field instruction, video editing, and other assigned duties. On-field coaching experience will provide an opportunity to test personal ideas and coaching methods under the direction of a seasoned, veteran head coach. The intern will learn the rules and regulations within recruiting under NCAA Division III guidelines.

The intern program provides the opportunity to gain exposure on a highly-competitive NCAA Division III coaching staff, while increasing marketability to a future employer. The intern will be exposed to resume-building situations while applying coaching concepts and principles. Hands-on opportunities to work with equipment and technology offered by the college will also enhance the experience. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to learn about the administrative side of the athletic department through experiences with game management, facility coordination and working with the college's Student Athlete Advisory Council.

The head coach or sports information director is the intern's primary supervisor. The intern will also be evaluated by the Director of Athletics.
