The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced a partnership with The Club Sports Organization, parent company of ClubLacrosse.org and the ClubLax App, to serve as the Official Data Provider for tournament and showcase game results and player performance statistics to the IWLCA and its Coaches.

The partnership stemmed from a desire to help coaches access the most complete set of information on prospective student-athletes during the evaluation and recruiting process. ClubLax provides on-field statistical data from recruiting events across the country to allow college coaches a more robust picture of the players they are recruiting. In 2020, the number of in-person evaluation opportunities for college coaches were limited due to COVID. While this summer’s return to regular recruiting calendars for all divisions means more opportunity, coaches cannot be everywhere, which can hamper recruiting knowledge. The IWLCA and ClubLax see an opportunity to positively impact the evaluation process for coaches by being a national information hub.

“Club Lax is an innovative company with a mission of completing the recruiting picture for coaches,” noted IWLCA Executive Director, Liz Robertshaw. “Recruiting is the lifeblood of any program and the IWLCA is interested in bringing digital platforms to our coaches in the recruiting process. We feel this is an opportunity to provide our members with another tool to evaluate players and make great decisions. Coaches can’t be at every event and ClubLax stats will be a great tool for coaches to see how prospective student-athletes are playing even when they cannot be on site.  We look forward to finding ways to integrate the ClubLax app into the IWLCA Tournament Series in the future.”

Player statistics such as goals, assists, save percentage, draw possessions, ground balls, and caused turnovers will be captured by the ClubLax app during competition or entered later on ClubLacrosse.org. Collegiate coaches will then have the ability to go in and see the player data from competitions in a secure College Coach Only Area.

“Most coaches we know believe that on-field performance data would help them in their recruiting process. Data is the missing piece that points them in a direction where they can focus their time for film review and club coach feedback. Data is part of the mosaic in most other sports; we are now bringing it to lacrosse,” said Daniel Cashion, Managing Partner of Club Lax.

Club Lax partnered with several tournaments this upcoming summer and fall to allow for on-field statistical data capture.
