Millersville University, Graduate Assistant

Millersville University graduate assistants play an integral role in the Athletics Department.  A graduate assistantship is available for Women’s Lacrosse.  The positions are designed for two years of study, subject to satisfactory academic progress and maintaining a 3.0 GPA, at which point the student should have a completed master’s degree. 

Selected candidates will receive a first year stipend of $5000 ($5400 in second year) and tuition waiver.  Graduate assistants also receive unparalleled experience in an outstanding Division II institution and gain valuable skills needed to apply for entry-level full-time positions upon completion of the two-year position.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of pre-season, in-season, and off-season training and conditioning programs for the team.
  • Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes.
  • Assist with athletic skill development for student-athletes.
  • Coordinate all activities in preparation for scheduled competition.
  • Attend all team practices and home and away contests.
  • Assist with the monitoring of student-athlete academic performance and implement team, athletic department, and University measures to support their academic performance. 
  • Assist in monitoring student-athlete compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
  • Work with alumni, student groups, University administration, and community groups to seek support for the team.
  • Assist the Head Coach in fundraising activities.
  • Must be available to work weekends and nights as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Lacrosse coach

Applicants hired into this position are required to apply and be accepted into a master’s degree program at Millersville University, and must be enrolled in a minimum of six graduate credits in the fall and spring semesters.
