2021 IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll – April 5, 2021
North Carolina (11-0) topped Syracuse, 17-6, over the weekend to strengthen their stranglehold on the top spot in the Division I Coaches Poll. Northwestern (9-0) stayed unbeaten and moved into the number two position, Syracuse (6-1) dropped into third, and Notre Dame (6-2) and Boston College (8-1) traded spots to complete the top five. The back half of the top ten remained unchanged, as Stony Brook (9-2), Virginia (8-3), Duke (6-5), Maryland (5-3), and Florida (9-2) all stayed put. There were no new entrants to this week’s poll, and no significant movement by any of the ranked teams.
Top-25 action gets underway on Wednesday this week when #18 Drexel visits #21 Navy. Thursday features two games between ranked teams: Duke (#8) at Louisville (#16), and #23 Rutgers at #9 Maryland. The weekend’s games include top-ranked North Carolina at #4 Notre Dame, #2 Northwestern at Ohio State (T-19), and #7 Virginia at #3 Syracuse on Saturday, and
Maryland at #14 Penn State on Sunday.
