Elite Tournaments, Tournament Director of Women’s Lacrosse (F/T)

Elite Tournaments is seeking a Tournament Director of Women’s Lacrosse to help build, implement, and manage the IWLCA recruiting event series. The Tournament Director will be responsible for the recruitment and retention for events in the series.  The Tournament Director will communicate with coaches, managers, and administrators to recruit and place teams in the proper tournaments.  They will develop tournament brackets and schedules for events and assist the Operations Department with development of the necessary logistical details. Additionally, the Tournament Director will work with the Marketing Department to develop a marketing strategy specific to the lacrosse demographic, recruiting calendars, etc. The Tournament Director of Women’s Lacrosse will play an integral role in building the Elite Tournaments name and brand in the sport of lacrosse.



  • Update tournament rules for each event and ensure they are updated on website
  • Ensure compliance with rules and ethics pertained to women’s lacrosse
  • Develop contacts database for teams, coaches, and administrators
  • Manage team rosters for all tournaments including development and procurement of all documentation required for teams and coaches  
  • Analyze trends and results in the lacrosse industry in order to implement into lacrosse strategy
  • Understand the competitive landscape and implement new ides to enhance the IWLCA recruiting series
  • Codevelop annual event operations budget(s)


  • Serve as the primary point of contact with all club team directors, officials, college coaches, and parents
  • Ensure teams are aware of the tournament rules and regulations.
  • Communicate schedule with Referee Assignor for field loading and scheduling
  • Conduct post event surveys to all teams, players, and college coaches

Business Development & Marketing

  • Coordinate pre-event, event, and post-event logistics with the selected videography partner
  • Work in conjunction with Business Development Department to generate new business leads in the lacrosse community
  • Attend conferences/seminars semi-annually (i.e. US Lacrosse Convention)
  • Assist Marketing Department with development of marketing strategy to target clubs for each event
  • Coordinate with Marketing Department to ensure all event website are up to date


  • Set-up tournaments within GotSport or other application software
  • Process tournament applications through registration software
  • Develop tournament schedules with considerations of customer service to include team travel restrictions, referee availability, field availability, and coaching conflicts
  • Assist Operations Department with development of logistics plan through integration of game schedule
  • Onsite Tournament Director for all lacrosse events
  • Plan, develop, and organize clinics if applicable
  • Coordinate any necessary uniform and/or equipment requirements for players


  • Develop relationships with clubs on a local, regional, and national level in order to recruit for events
  • Develop relationships with college coaches in order to recruit for events

Qualifications & Education Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of the youth sports landscape and particularly the youth lacrosse tournament club, sector, and demographic in the United States
  • Superior oral and written communications skills
  • Effective organizational skills for management of multiple tasks
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management or a related discipline
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in operation of sporting events, leagues, facilities, and/or professional teams

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of products in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Knowledge of GotSport software application, or other applicable registration software
  • Knowledge of basic finance practices for budget management

Additional Requirements

  •  Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work weekends, irregular hours, and travel as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
