Fairfield and Niagara Take the Norma Pfriem Pink Pledge
Teams compete in social media challenges to raise money for breast cancer awareness, treatment and research
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – With their annual Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup canceled, the Fairfield University and Niagara University women’s lacrosse teams found a different outlet to square off this past weekend. The Stags and Purple Eagles took to Instagram, competing to garner the most followers and likes as a fundraiser for the Norma Pfriem Pink Pledge benefiting breast cancer awareness, treatment and research.
The friendly competition, arranged by Fairfield Head Coach Laura Field and Niagara Head Coach Wendy Stone, was held in honor of Wesleyan Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach Kim Williams, who is currently battling breast cancer.
