The Athletic Department at Bloomsburg University, a division II member of the NCAA and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), is accepting applications from qualified candidates for a graduate assistant (GA) who will serve as an assistant coach in lacrosse along with an administrative role within the department.
Responsibilities include assisting the head coach with day-to-day operations including, but not limited to, recruiting, monitoring the student-athletes’ success and progress, organizing practice and game strategies, film breakdown, as well as assisting with fundraising and community service.
Stipends are available during the academic year. The position is for a “half-time” assistantship which require 20 hours of work each week. Half time GA’s are required to carry a minimum of 6 and maximum of 9 semester hours of graduate work. Half-time assistantships provide a 6 credit tuition waiver per semester. The waiver does not include undergraduate prerequisite courses, activity fees, health fees, student union fees, recreational fees, or any other charges incurred.
A bachelor's degree and prior collegiate level lacrosse playing, coaching, or athletic office experience are required. Knowledge of NCAA rules and acceptance in to a graduate program at Bloomsburg University are also required. In addition, a valid driver’s license, applicable clearances, CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are required. Interest in a coaching career preferred.
