The 2019 IWLCA Brine President's Cup presented by New Balance wrapped up on Sunday afternoon. This year’s event was held at the International Polo Club, while the Fall Debut division took place at nearby Village Park. The tournament drew over 800 college coaches, maximizing the recruiting exposure for the 7,200+ prospects that competed at the three-day event.

“The Presidents Cup is the best recruiting event of the year,” said Kelly Gallagher, head coach at the University of Tampa. “The event draws teams from across the country, and the level of talent, the facilities, and the weather all make for a top-notch experience for everyone involved.”

One of the IWLCA's three "national" tournaments, the President's Cup is the largest in terms of the number of teams, players, and coaches in attendance, and the 2019 event was the single largest lacrosse tournament conducted in the United States.

One of the highlights of the weekend was an exhibition match between the U.S. Women's National Team and a team of players from the Women's Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL). The game was played using the trial Olympic Rules created by World Lacrosse and streamed live by Lax Sports Network. The U.S. Team won the game, 19-16, but a victory for the growth of the sport could just as easily be claimed. Several thousand fans, many of them young female players, watched the game live and had a chance to see the future of the sport as it will appear on the international stage.

The IWLCA Brine President's Cup presented by New Balance and the Fall Debut division will again be held at the International Polo Club and Village Park next year from November 22-24, 2020.
