Widener University, Assistant Coach (P/T)

Widener University is currently seeking qualified assistant coach of women’s lacrosse in Athletics. The assistant coach will assist in the development and management of an NCAA Division III women’s lacrosse program in accordance with NCAA and University guidelines.  The assistant coach will work with the head coach and other assistant coach staff members to organize and execute training and event coaching responsibilities throughout the traditional and non-traditional season. Additional duties within the department may be assigned.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  (include but are not limited to)

Essential Duties

  • The assistant coach will assist in the development and management of women’s lacrosse an NCAA Division III program in accordance with NCAA MAC and University guidelines. 
  • The assistant coach will actively educate and coach tactical and educational sport principles, assist in practice planning, athlete evaluation, and daily operations as well as game preparation.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • The assistant coach will periodically participate in on and off campus recruiting and communication with prospective student-athletes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Education/Training and Experience Required):

  • Candidates must have collegiate playing experience, a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and a valid driver’s license.

Preferred:

  • The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 1 -3 years of related experience in coaching at the collegiate/club/high school level, sport camp/clinic instructional experience, and will be required to have the appropriate certifications in CPR and First Aid.
