UCLA Club A Team, Head Coach (P/T)

UCLA, a member of the Women's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (WCLA) and Western Women's Lacrosse League (WWLL), is seeking a new head coach for our club A Team. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic individuals with a love for coaching and the game of lacrosse.


This program prides itself on success both on and off the field. Coaches must uphold the standards UCLA is known for: respect, accountability, integrity, service, and excellence. We are an established top-10 WCLA team and annually compete for WWLL and WCLA championships. This group of girls pay to play, so everyone who is on the field wants to be here and actively chooses to be a part of this team. Our program has a positive, welcoming culture, and we are looking or a coach who can add to and foster this environment!


  • Attend all lacrosse-related events, not limited to practices, games and clinics/camps (practices 3-4 week nights during fall and spring; games on weekends during the spring season)
  • Plan practices, including drills based on skill level and position for up to 50 girls in the fall (25 in the spring)
  • Individualized on-field coaching
  • Game preparation, including conducting scouting reports and/or film breakdowns
  • Manage the entire program's administrative duties, including A and B teams
  • Develop and maintain team culture
  • Assist in recruiting for the program
  • Additional tasks as identified

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior playing and coaching experience
  • Knowledge of lacrosse skills and fundamentals, training, and instruction for collegiate club level
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust on the fly

Salary: Commensurate with experience, not sufficient as sole source of income
Available: September 2019
Appointment: Part-Time, 8 months
