Notre Dame College, Graduate Assistant

Notre Dame College seeks a graduate assistant to work in conjunction with the head women's lacrosse coach in all aspects related to the operation of the women's lacrosse program. The graduate assistant must successfully enroll as a full-time graduate student in a qualifying program.

Essential functions include, but not limited to:

  • Assist the head coach with player development and instruction including practice planning, game planning, and team management
  • Effectively recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes; Maintain and ensure student-athlete academic integrity.
  • Conduct study halls and help ensure student-athletes are successful in the classroom.
  • Assist with fundraising
  • Assist with scheduling and travel itineraries
  • Adhere to NCAA, conference, departmental, and university policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Provide service to the Institution as assigned by Director of Athletics.
  • Interact effectively and appropriately with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, peers, community members, and administrators.
  • Demonstrate support for diversity, equity and inclusiveness as well as participate in maintaining a respectful, positive work environment.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree at the time of appointment; minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA; and at least two years of driving experience on a state-issued license. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated success in playing lacrosse at the college level; a strong knowledge of NCAA rules; and excellent communication and organizational skills. Applicants must be willing to work with various departments on campus including, but not limited to: admissions, facilities and development.

This position, available August 2019, is approximately 20 hours per week and will require weekend and evening work, including team travel.
