Middlebury Remains No. 1 as Regular Season Nears Close
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.— The unbeaten Middlebury Panthers continue to lead Division III after adding two more wins to their record, defeating Hamilton and No. 5 Amherst last week. The Panthers will close out the regular season on Wednesday with a road trip to No. 19 Williams for a 6 p.m. matchup in Massachusetts.
Tufts (12–2, 7–2 NESCAC) holds steady at No. 2 following a 15–6 win over Hamilton on Saturday. The Jumbos will wrap up the regular season on the road at Bowdoin on Wednesday evening in Brunswick, Maine.
Wesleyan remains at No. 3 after an 11–3 victory over Williams, clinching the Little Three regular-season championship and securing a home game in the NESCAC Quarterfinals this Saturday. The Cardinals will first close out the regular season against Connecticut College midweek.
Salisbury stays firm at No. 4 after a decisive win over St. Mary’s (Md.), remaining unbeaten on the season. The Sea Gulls have one regular-season game remaining, a conference matchup against No. 21 Christopher Newport.
Rounding out the Top 5 is Amherst, which will face TCNJ on Wednesday to close out its regular season.
In total, 25 teams are represented in the poll, with voters—college coaches from across the nation—reflecting the latest results across women’s lacrosse. The rankings are based on weekly performances, with the poll set to be released each Monday throughout the season.
