IWLCA Players of the Week –March 3, 2026

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. – The IWLCA has chosen eight student-athletes for the IWLCA Player of the Week awards for the week ending March 1, 2026. This weekly award recognizes the best offensive and defensive performances by players in Division I, II, III and the NAIA each week during the regular season.

Division I

Offensive Player of the Week
 Ava Yovino—United States Naval Academy

Yovino helped lead No. 10 Navy to a 14–11 upset victory over No. 7 Florida, tying the second-highest ranked win in program history. She paced the team with six points on a team-high three goals and three assists, while also posting seven draw controls, three caused turnovers, and one ground ball. Yovino scored all three of her goals in the first half to help Navy seize a lead it would not relinquish. She later assisted on goals, including the game-winner. She played a key role in the Midshipmen winning 17 of the final 20 draws to control possession down the stretch. This is Yovino’s second IWLCA Player of the Week honor this season.

Defensive Player of the Week

Niamh Pfaff—Yale University

Pfaff tied her career high with 10 saves in a strong showing in goal. In the 11-6 win over No. 6 Michigan, she held the Wolverines scoreless on all six free-position attempts. The performance limited Michigan to its lowest goal total since scoring six against then-No. 3 Northwestern on April 17, 2025. Pfaff also earned Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors for her efforts.

Division II

Offensive Player of the Week
 Erin McIlroy—Franklin Pierce University

McIlroy totaled five points on four goals and one assist, including the game-winning free-position strike that lifted the Ravens to their first victory of the 2026 season over No. 15 Dominican (N.Y.) in double overtime. She also added one caused turnover and three draw controls in the win.

Defensive Player of the Week

Alyssa Wolf—Pace University

Wolf anchored the defensive unit in Pace’s 12–8 win over No. 20 Kutztown, recording four caused turnovers and three ground balls. Her disruptive presence consistently broke up the Golden Bears’ offensive rhythm and played a key role in limiting scoring opportunities and shifting momentum.

Division III

Offensive Player of the Week
 Julianna Ott—Salisbury University

Ott recorded a career high six goals against Washington College and followed with a hat trick to help Salisbury defeat No. 9 Washington and Lee. Her standout week also earned her conference Player of the Week honors.

Defensive Player of the Week

Bridget Sheehy—Denison University

The midfielder led the defensive effort for No. 10 Denison with five ground balls, four caused turnovers, and three draw controls in a 15–4 win over University of Mount Union.

NAIA

Offensive Player of the Week
 Anna Lobbezoo—University of the Cumberlands

Lobbezoo paced the No. 2 Patriots to a pair of wins with six goals and eight assists for 14 points on the week. She recorded a career-high five assists with three goals against Marian University and opened the week with six points in a win over Warner University. Lobbezoo also added five ground balls, six draw controls, and four caused turnovers to her stat line.

Defensive Player of the Week

McKenzie Gibaud—Keiser University

Gibaud delivered a well-rounded performance on both ends of the field in Keiser’s 21-4 victory over Ottawa. She led the defensive charge for No. 5 Keiser University in a 21–4 win over Ottawa University, recording four caused turnovers and three ground balls. She also added three points on two goals and one assist.
