IWLCA Players of the Week – February 10, 2026

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. – The IWLCA has chosen two student-athletes for the IWLCA Player of the Week awards for the week ending February 8, 2026. This weekly award recognizes the best offensive and defensive performance in Division I for Week 1 of the regular season.


Division I

Offensive Player of the Week
Ava Yovino—United States Naval Academy

Yovino led Navy to a 12–10 upset of No. 10 Virginia with a six-point performance, recording two goals and four assists. She also controlled the draw, finishing with a team-high seven, while matching team highs in ground balls (3) and caused turnovers (2). Yovino played a key role in the Mids’ first-half 7–0 run, contributing two goals and two assists to help build a four-goal advantage.

Defensive Player of the Week

JJ Suriano—University of Maryland

Suriano, a junior goalkeeper for the Terps, opened the season with a .762 save percentage against No. 13 Syracuse. She held the Orange scoreless in the first quarter and finished with 16 saves on 21 shots faced, allowing just five goals in the victory.
