IWLCA Players of the Week –April 7, 2026

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. – The IWLCA has chosen eight student-athletes for the IWLCA Player of the Week awards for the week ending April 5, 2026. This weekly award recognizes the best offensive and defensive performances by players in Division I, II, III and the NAIA each week during the regular season.

Division I

Offensive Player of the Week
 Kelly MacKinney—Pennsylvania State University

MacKinney erupted for a career-high nine points in Penn State’s 18–9 win over No. 25 Ohio State, finishing with seven goals and two assists. She shot an efficient 78%, with just one goal coming from the eight-meter, and added two assists on quick-stick finishes in tight space. Her seven goals are tied for the third-most by a Big Ten player this season, while her nine points match the top single-game total by a Nittany Lion this year and rank among the conference’s best performances.

Defensive Player of the Week

Kate Levy—University of North Carolina

Levy delivered a dominant all-around performance in UNC’s 19–4 win over No. 22 Virginia, scoring two goals while setting a career high with six caused turnovers and matching her career best with five ground balls. She led a Tar Heel defense that limited Virginia to just four goals on 15 shots and forced 14 turnovers in the victory.

Division II

Offensive Player of the Week
 Josie Lakosky—Northern Michigan University

In a 16-7 win over Concordia-St. Paul, Lakosky recorded eight goals and three assists for 11 points—her third 11-point outing of the season—while placing 10 of her 11 shots on goal. She also contributed across the field with a career-high 10 draw controls, three caused turnovers, and three ground balls. Nationally, Lakosky continues to rank among the elite, leading the country in points per game (7.00) while ranking second in total points (84), goals per game (5.17), shots per game (10.33), and shots on goal per game (8.83). The junior attacker also earned her third GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor for her performance.

Defensive Player of the Week

Rory Meehan—Adelphi University

Meehan was a force on the field last week, collecting seven caused turnovers and five ground balls in No. 13 Adelphi's pair of wins. The sophomore midfielder also won a team-leading four draw controls against Assumption. One of her four caused turnovers came in the second half when the Panthers held the Greyhounds scoreless for over 30 minutes.

Division III

Offensive Player of the Week
 Brooke Epstein—Haverford College

Epstein powered the (RV) Haverford offense with four goals and one assist, leading the Fords in a 13-8 upset victory over No. 19 Franklin & Marshall, the first victory over the Diplomats in 26 years. The senior also totaled nine shots (all on target), three draw controls, one caused turnover, and one ground ball in the win. With her performance on Saturday, the senior moved into third place all-time in program history with 190 career goals and 256 total points.

Defensive Player of the Week

Grace Hejeebu—Messiah University

Hejeebu recorded a career-high 20 saves to lead No. 16 Messiah to an 11–9 win over No. 7 York (PA), anchoring the Falcons with a standout performance in goal.

NAIA

Offensive Player of the Week
 Addison Holm—Culver-Stockton College

Holm set a new Culver-Stockton single-game record with 12 draw controls in a win over Mount Mercy, while also establishing a new program single-season mark with 65 draw controls.

Defensive Player of the Week

Mollie Geiger—Savannah College of Art and Design

Geiger led all players in caused turnovers (4) and ground balls (6) as the No. 3 Bees earned a 25-2 win over Warner University. The sophomore midfielder currently leads the team in ground balls (20) and caused turnovers (19).
