IWLCA Players of the Week –April 14, 2026

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. – The IWLCA has chosen 10 student-athletes for the IWLCA Player of the Week awards for the week ending April 12, 2026. This weekly award recognizes the best offensive and defensive performances by players in Division I, II, III and the NAIA each week during the regular season.

Division I

Offensive Player of the Week
Madison Taylor—Northwestern University

Taylor led No. 4 Northwestern to a historic win over No. 1 Maryland, finishing with four goals and an assist while adding a team-high five draw controls, including a crucial draw in the final minute. She followed with a dominant performance in a road victory over No. 18 Penn State, recording six goals and three assists. Taylor’s efforts also contributed to head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller’s 400th career win, all at Northwestern.

Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Grace Cincebox—University at Albany

Cincebox anchored the Great Danes’ defense in a 9–8 win over Bryant, helping UAlbany remain a perfect 5–0 in America East play. She recorded 15 saves on 35 shots for a .652 save percentage, including a crucial stop with 1:44 remaining to preserve the one-goal lead. Cincebox was especially strong in the fourth quarter, making six saves to secure the victory and limit Bryant’s scoring opportunities down the stretch.

Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Daniella Guyette—Syracuse University

Guyette delivered a clutch performance in goal to help No. 3 Syracuse secure a 4OT victory over No. 19 Notre Dame. She made 11 saves on 28 shots faced, including three critical stops in the third overtime to keep the Orange alive and set up the win.


Division II

Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Josie Lakosky—Northern Michigan University

Lakosky delivered a record-setting weekend, matching NMU’s single-game program records with nine goals and 13 points in a 21–4 win over Davenport. She followed with five more goals against Grand Valley State to break the program’s single-season goals record and surpass 100 points, becoming just the second player in program history to reach that milestone. Lakosky now totals 76 goals and 27 assists for 103 points on the season, leading NCAA Division II in goals, goals per game, points, points per game, and shots on goal per game. She has also set single-season program records in goals and shots on goal, while tying the ground ball record and closing in on multiple additional single-season and career marks. This is Lakosky’s second IWLCA Player of the Week accolade on the season.

Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Sophia Wood—Saint Leo University

Wood powered Saint Leo to a pair of Top-10 victories, defeating No. 6 Tampa and No. 4 Embry-Riddle. She tallied 10 points on seven goals and three assists for the week. The senior midfielder also contributed six draw controls and three ground balls, impacting all areas of the game. Her standout performance earned her SSC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Defensive Player of the Week

Sarah Krause—Grand Valley State University

Krause was instrumental in Grand Valley State’s pair of road victories. The senior goalkeeper totaled 26 saves with a .722 save percentage while adding eight ground balls. She recorded a career-high 14 saves and a .875 save percentage in a 16–2 win over Concordia-St. Paul, then followed with 12 saves—including a key late free-position stop—in a 9–8 win over Northern Michigan. On the season, Krause has amassed 110 saves and 35 ground balls. She also earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for her efforts.


Division III

Offensive Player of the Week
Mia Salvatierra—Washington College

Salvatierra totaled 14 points on four goals and 10 assists in a 2–0 week for Washington College, while also adding seven ground balls and seven caused turnovers. In a 17–13 win at Ursinus, she tied the program record with a career-best seven assists and played a key role in a decisive 6–0 run, scoring twice and assisting once, including the go-ahead goal. The senior also netted her 250th career point in game, becoming the fourth player in team history to reach the milestone. Salvatierra followed that outing with two goals and three assists in a 14–12 win over No. 24 Muhlenberg, while recording a career-high four caused turnovers and three ground balls. Salvatierra also reached a major milestone, becoming just the third player in program history to surpass 100 career assists.

Defensive Player of the Week

Abby Fleishell—Salisbury University

Fleishell earns this week’s defensive honors after a standout performance against No. 18 TCNJ. She recorded five caused turnovers and six ground balls—both career highs—while helping No. 4 Salisbury hold TCNJ scoreless for the final 39 minutes. The Sea Gulls’ defense forced 26 total turnovers and limited the Lions to ten goals below their season average.


NAIA

Offensive Player of the Week
Ashlee Baker—University of the Cumberlands

Baker earns this week’s Offensive honors after a dominant performance in a win over No. 4 Reinhardt. She tallied 9 points (3 goals, 6 assists), contributing to seven of the Patriots’ first eight goals to help tie the game early in the third quarter. Baker also surpassed 100 points on the season and now leads the NAIA with 108 points and 56 assists. This is Baker’s second IWLCA Player of the Week accolade this season.

Defensive Player of the Week

Mikayla Kimsey—University of the Cumberlands

In a strong performance against No. 4 Reinhardt, Kimsey recorded 13 saves, including seven in the second half. She finished with a 61.9% save percentage. In addition, Kimsey helped anchor a defense that allowed just one second-half goal, while also adding a caused turnover and two ground balls. She currently leads the NAIA with a 57.1% save percentage on the season.
