IWLCA Announces 2026-27 Board Members

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. – IWLCA President Kelly Gallagher, head coach at the University of Tampa, has announced the election results for the 2026 IWLCA Board of Directors. There were six vacancies contested in this election cycle, including IWLCA President and Secretary, both Executive Committee positions, and four Divisional representatives – one in Division I, two in Division II, and one in Division III. Additionally, the Board selected a new DEI Representative to the Board of Directors based on a recommendation from the Equity & Inclusion committee. All board members will begin their new terms of service on July 1, 2025.

“Both our IWLCA staff and the Nominating Committee worked very hard to ensure we had competitive candidates for the Board of Directors vacancies this year,” Gallagher said. “One candidate was re-elected to her current position, two positions were filled by former Board members, and we will also have four new Board members joining us, all of whom have experience in serving the IWLCA membership. This is an exciting and dynamic time for our sport and the Board has been very proactive addressing the changes in collegiate athletics, which has positioned our association for continued success as leaders in the sport.”
Meredith Black, the head coach at Marquette University, was elected to a three-year term as IWLCA President that will begin in July. Black currently serves as the chair of the IWLCA’s Ethics committee and formerly served as a Division I Representative to the Board.
Karrie Moore serves as the head coach at Ithaca College, and was previously a Division III Representative on the Board. Moore was elected as IWLCA Secretary. She has experience coaching at both Division III and Division I institutions and is the Division III chair of the IWLCA’s Online Video Exchange committee (OVEC).
Evan Mager, an assistant coach at Rutgers University, was elected to a three-year term as a Division I Representative. Mager is currently a member of the IWLCA’s RSGA (Rules, Safety, and Game Administration) committee and is an IWLCA representative to the USA Lacrosse Equipment Council (LEC).
Dominique Hamman is the head coach at Grand Valley State University and won the special election for a one-year term as a Division II Representative. She has experience on multiple committees, including the IWLCA’s Awards, All-Region Selection and Senior All-Star Game Selection committees, and the NCAA Division II Regional Advisory Committee and Coaches Connection.
Shannon McHale, head coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University, was re-elected to another three-year term as a Division II Representative. She currently serves as the Board liaison to the IWLCA Hall of Fame Selection committee.
Jessica Smith, the head coach at Allegheny College, was elected to a three-year term as a Division III Representative. She is the chair of the IWLCA’s Mentoring committee and serves on the NCAA Division III Regional Advisory Committee for Region VI.
Tatiana Samuel is the assistant coach at the University of Chicago. She was selected to a three-year term as a DEI Representative. Samuel is currently a member of the IWLCA Equity & Inclusion committee and has served as a facilitator for the IWLCA’s Future Leaders of the Game: IWLCA Multiracial Students Leadership Academy.

The IWLCA re-structured the Board of Directors to balance Divisional representation in 2017. This structure includes the four officers comprising the Executive Committee, as well as three Representatives from each NCAA Division and one representing the NAIA. The most recent update of the IWLCA Bylaws included the addition of the two Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) representatives. Each regular term on the Board of Directors is three years, though from time to time, the term length is shorter when a special election is held to fill an unexpected vacancy.

“I would also like to recognize the service and contributions of our outgoing Board members, Elizabeth Beville and Jill Batchellar.” Gallagher said. “Their work on behalf of the IWLCA membership is commendable, and we look forward to thanking them in person at the 2026 IWLCA Convention in November.”
