American Lacrosse Conference keeps six schools in ranking, Florida moves to No. 2

The American Lacrosse Conference continued its history-making run as all six schools in the conference were ranked for a second consecutive week, with second-year program Florida rising to the No. 2 spot, the highest rank for a second-year program in poll history. UF’s ascension to the No. 2 spot is one better than the No. 3 rank achieved by North Carolina on April 7, 1997.
The ALC has two of the six schools in the top-10, with Florida leading the way at No. 2 and Northwestern holding at No. 5. Penn State (No. 13) and Vanderbilt (No. 17) both remain the same from last week, while Ohio State rises to No. 19 and Johns Hopkins moves to No. 20.
The ACC has four of its five schools in the top-10, starting with top-ranked Maryland. North Carolina rises to No. 3 while Duke drops to No. 4. Boston College moves into the top-10 at No. 9 while Virginia falls out of the top-10, dropping to No. 11.
Both the Ivy Group and the Big East are represented by three schools. Loyola from the Big East moves to No. 7, with Georgetown remaining at No. 16 and Syracuse moving to no. 18. Penn, from the Ivy Group, leads that conference at No. 10, with Dartmouth (No. 14) and Princeton (No. 15) holding steady from last week.
Stanford from the MPSF rises to No. 6; Albany from the America East also moves up one notch to land at No. 8. James Madison from the CAA holds at No. 12.
On Wednesday, No. 11 Virginia travels to No. 12 James Madison in rescheduled game; the two teams had met previously but the game was cancelled due to inclement weather. On Thursday, the top-ranked Terrapins travel down the road to face No. 16 Georgetown. On Friday, a key Big East matchup takes place as No. 7 Loyola welcomes No. 18 Syracuse while No. 10 Penn hosts No. 4 Duke on Friday night as well. On Saturday, the No. 11 Cavaliers welcome the No. 5 Wildcats and No. 13 Penn State travels to face No. 15 Princeton. A key ALC contest is underway on Saturday as well with the No. 18 Buckeyes hosting No. 20 Johns Hopkins. The first day of May, Sunday, brings a game in Hanover as No. 14 Dartmouth hosts the No. 1 Terrapins.

Adelphi holds on to all 15 first-place votes, top spot in the nation

The Adelphi Panthers and LeMoyne Dolphins sit 1-2 in the poll for a third consecutive week as Adelphi kept all 15 first-place votes and the same 15 teams were ranked for a third straight poll.
The Northeast-10 and the PSAC both claim five ranked schools yet again. The NE-10 schools all hold their position from last week with Adelphi and LeMoyne at 1-2, Stonehill at No. 5, New Haven at No. 11 and Merrimack at No. 13. Some shuffling took place in the PSAC, but Lock Haven (No. 4), West Chester (No. 6) and Gannon (No. 10) both held steady in the top-10 while Mercyhurst dropped to No. 12 and Bloomsburg remained at No. 14.
Both the Northeast-10 and the PSAC have five schools in the poll, with the NE-10 holding the top two spots and three of the top five. Adelphi (No. 1), LeMoyne (No. 2), and Stonehill (No. 5) all hold steady from last week, with New Haven moving up to No. 11 and Merrimack moving to No. 13. Lock Haven leads the PSAC at No. 4, with West Chester moving up to No. 6, Gannon holding at No. 10, Mercyhurst rising to No. 11 and Bloomsburg staying at No. 14.
The East Coast Conference and the Conference Carolinas are both represented by two schools. Dowling from the ECC moved up to No. 6 while C. W. Post remained at No. 8. From the Conference Carolinas, Limestone (No. 3) and Pfeiffer (No. 15) held from last week’s ranking. Rollins, which competes as an independent, remained at No. 9.
The week starts off on Monday as No. 5 Stonehill hosts No. 6 Dowling. On Tuesday, No. 14 Bloomsburg hosts No. 12 Mercyhurst in PSAC action. Wednesday sees No. 1 Adelphi hosting No. 11 New Haven. Friday is the semifinals of the PSAC tournament; No. 6 West Chester will host the winner of the Bloomsburg/Mercyhurst game while No. 4 Lock Haven takes on the winner of Gannon v. East Stroudsburg. On Saturday, a key NE-10 contest will take place as No. 5 Stonehill hosts No. 2 LeMoyne; No. 8 C. W. Post hosts No. 13 Merrimack on the same day.

IWLCA Division III Poll, Week 9
TCNJ keeps all 20 first-place votes

The TCNJ Lions retain the No. 1ranking this week, again taking all 20 first-place votes as the same 20 institutions remain in the ranks from last week. The week’s biggest mover was Claremont-Mudd-Scripps as the Athenas rose two spots to land at No. 18.
The NESCAC’s eight schools remained in their relative positions, with Trinity leading the conference at No. 3, while Colby stayed in the top-10, holding at No. 8. Middlebury continues to lead off the second half of the poll at No. 11, followed closely by Bowdoin (No. 12) and Tufts (No. 14). Amherst held at No. 16 while Williams (No. 19) and Bates (No. 20) both slid one spot.
The Centennial Conference and the Middle Atlantic Conferences are both represented by two schools. The two institutions from the Centennial Conference switched spots from last week as regular season champion Franklin & Marshall moved to No. 6 and Gettysburg moved to No. 7. Messiah from the MAC rose to No. 13 while conference rival Elizabethtown held at No. 17.
Eight different leagues each have one school ranked in this week’s poll. TCNJ represents the NJAC and holds down the No. 1 spot, with Hamilton from the Liberty League right behind at No. 2. Cortland from the SUNYAC remains at No. 4, just ahead of No. 5 Salisbury from the Capital Athletic Conference. Stevens from the Empire 8 and Catholic from the Landmark remain steady from last week, holding at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively. Washington & Lee from the ODAC stays at No. 15 while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps from the SCIAC is the week’s fastest riser, going up to No. 18.
On Thursday, the top-ranked Lions host No. 9 Stevens in a key regional match. On Friday, all eight ranked NESCAC teams will meet a ranked conference rival. No. 16 Amherst is at No. 3 Trinity, No. 14 Tufts hosts No. 12 Bowdoin, No. 8 Colby travels to No. 20 Bates, and No. 11 Middlebury will go on the road to No. 19 Williams. The first round of the NESCAC tournament will take place at the top seeds on Sunday, May 1. The Centennial Conference tournament will also be contested this week, with the final on Sunday.
