IWLCA Releases Week 6 Polls
IWLCA Division I Poll, Week 6
Terps and Wildcats continue to sit 1-2 in rankings

The top six schools, led by No. 1 Maryland and No. 2 Northwestern, remain the same from last week’s rankings as the Terps and Wildcats continue to rank 1-2 in each vote; the same 20 schools stay in the poll as Albany moves into the top-10 for the first time this season.
The ACC maintains their hold on the poll with five schools in the rankings, starting with the top-ranked Terps. Duke (No. 3) and North Carolina (No. 4) stay in the top-five, while Virginia falls out of the top-10 to land at No. 11 while Boston College jumps three spots to land at No. 16.
The American Lacrosse Conference has the second-highest concentration of schools with four ranked institutions, led by No. 2 Northwestern. Florida remains in the top-10 at No. 6, while Vanderbilt (No. 14) just edged out Penn State (No. 15) in the voting.
The Ivy Group and the Big East are both represented by three schools. The Ivy’s Penn (No. 8) and Princeton (No. 12) both hold from Week 5 while Dartmouth moves to No. 19. Loyola leads the Big East at No. 5; Syracuse (No. 13) and Georgetown (No. 18) both shift one spot from last week.
The CAA’s two schools include James Madison, who rose one spot to No. 9, and William & Mary, who moved to No. 17.
Stanford from the MPSF moves up two slots to land at No. 7, while Albany from the America East move to a program-high No. 10, marking the first time the Great Danes have been in the nation’s top-10 in Division I.
The week starts off with No. 13 Syracuse traveling to face No 19 Dartmouth on Monday, April 4. On Friday, a key ALC matchup takes place at No. 2 Northwestern hosts No. 15 Penn State. A pair of ACC contests between ranked opponents are on the docket for Saturday, with No. 1 Maryland hosting No. 4 North Carolina and No. 3 Duke going on the road to face No. 16 Boston College. Sunday sees No. 9 James Madison facing No. 17 William & Mary in Williamsburg, and the No. 2 Wildcats hosting No. 8 Penn in Evanston.

IWLCA Division II Poll, Week 6
Poll expands to 15 teams; Adelphi remains on top but Lock Haven takes a first-place vote

The Division II poll expands to 15 teams this week as the incredible growth of the division is paralleled in the rankings. The reigning champions, Adelphi, hold on to the top spot but Lock Haven claimed on of the top votes this week, breaking the Panthers’ stranglehold.
The PSAC and the Northeast-10 both claim five schools in the ranking. The NE-10 has three of the top five schools as Adelphi holds at No. 1, LeMoyne moves up to No. 3, and Stonehill jumps to No. 5. Merrimack, who received votes in the 10-school poll last week, is now ranked at No. 12 and New Haven enters at No. 13. The PSAC is led by No. 2 Lock Haven; West Chester holds at No. 7 while Mercyhurst slides to No. 9 and Gannon falls to No. 11. Bloomsburg is ranked No. 13 this week.
The East Coast Conference and the Conference Carolinas both claim two schools; Limestone moves to No. 4 as is joined by Pfeiffer at No. 15; C. W. Post from the ECC moves to No. 6 while Dowling moves into the top-10 at No. 10. Rollins, which competes as an independent, moves up to No. 8.
On Wednesday, No. 2 Lock Haven travels to face No. 11 Gannon in a key PSAC match while No. 6 C. W. Post hosts No. 14 New Haven. On Saturday, the No. 2 Lady Eagles host No. 9 Mercyhurst in the PSAC while the top-ranked Panthers take on the No. 5 Skyhawks in a key NE-10 game.

NESCAC claims a record eight schools in the poll

The Lions of TCNJ hold on to the top spot in the rankings, and 2010 champion Salisbury keeps a couple first-place votes, but the NESCAC broke its own record as eight conference schools are ranked in the poll this week, the highest total for a single week for any conference in poll history. Bates moved into the No. 20 slot, giving the league three in the top-10 and five in the second half of the poll.
The NESCAC’s record eight schools are led by No. 4 Trinity; the Bantams are joined in the top-10 by No. 8 Colby and No. 9 Middlebury as the Panthers jumped three spots from last week. Tufts slides to No. 12 while Bowdoin jumps to No. 14; Williams moves to No. 16, Amherst holds at No. 18, and Bates anchors the rankings at No. 20.
Three conferences boast two schools each. The Centennial Conference’s two schools, Gettysburg (No. 6) and Franklin & Marshall (No. 7) hold the same from last week. From the CAC, Salisbury remains at No. 2 while Mary Washington falls to No. 19. The Middle Atlantic Conferences’ Messiah moved up to No. 15 while Elizabethtown jumped three slots to sit at No. 17.
The six remaining schools in the poll each represent a different conference, starting with top-ranked TCNJ from the NJAC. Hamilton (No. 3, Liberty League) and Cortland (No. 5, SUNYAC) both remain steady from last week while the Empire 8’s Stevens moves to round out the top half of the poll at No. 10. The Landmark’s Catholic starts the second half of the poll at No. 11, and the ODAC’s Washington & Lee moves up one spot to No. 13.
On Tuesday, No. 3 Hamilton hosts future NESCAC rival Middlebury (No. 9). Wednesday features No. 8 Colby taking on No. 14 Bowdoin. On Saturday, April 9 three NESCAC games between ranked opponents take place. The No. 9 Panthers host the No. 14 Polar Bears, No. 4 Trinity travels to No. 12 Tufts, and No. 16 Williams faces archrival Amherst, ranked No. 18. On Sunday, it will be a No. 1 vs No. 2 matchup as the top-ranked Lions meet the No. 2 Sea Gulls in Salisbury.
