IWLCA Releases Week 2 Polls
IWLCA Division I Poll, Week 2
Maryland sweeps all first-place and Northwestern gets all second-place votes again

The Maryland Terrapins and the Northwestern Wildcats both collected all 20 first-place and 20 second-place votes for a second consecutive week as the two schools remain 1-2 in the polls. A pair of teams enter the ranks for the first time in 2011 as Albany moves in to No. 19 and Massachusetts comes in at No. 20.
The ACC continues to lead all conferences with five schools, led by No. 1 Maryland. Duke moves up to No. 3, while North Carolina slides to No. 5 and Virginia falls to No. 7 as the conference claims four of the top-seven slots. Boston College holds steady at No. 16 to round out the conference spots.
The Big East is represented by four schools, all of which rank in the top-12. Loyola moves up to No. 6 while Georgetown moves to No. 9; Notre Dame and Syracuse switch places at No. 11 and No. 12.
The American Lacrosse Conference and the Ivy Group both claim three schools. The ALC is led by No. 2 Northwestern; Vanderbilt (No. 13) sits right in front of Florida (No. 14). Penn moves up four spots to No. 4, while Dartmouth holds at No. 15 and Princeton improves to No. 17.
The CAA has two schools, with James Madison closing out the top-10 at No. 10, and William & Mary moving up one notch to No. 18.
Stanford from the MPSF continues to rise in the polls, going to No. 8. The two new schools are the lone representatives from their conferences; Albany from the America East comes in at No. 19 and Massachusetts from the Atlantic 10 moves in at No. 20.
On March 9, No. 9 Georgetown travels to No. 14 Florida and No. 13 Vanderbilt is on the road at No. 3 Duke. On Saturday, the No. 3 Blue Devils travel to face the No. 9 Hoyas while the top-ranked Terrapins host the No. 12 Orange. An ACC matchup between No. 5 UNC and No. 7 Virginia takes place in Chapel Hill on the same day.

Panthers hold on to all first-place votes and top spot in poll

The Adelphi Panthers continue to hold all ten first-place votes for the third consecutive poll and are the nation’s top-ranked team yet again this week. Limestone moves up to a program-best No. 2 this week while the same ten schools from Week 1 remain in the ranks.
The PSAC leads all conferences with four schools. Lock Haven holds at No. 3 while West Chester slips to No. 6; Mercyhurst falls to No. 7 and Gannon holds at No. 9. The Northeast-10 boasts three institutions, led by No. 1 Adelphi. LeMoyne rises to No. 5 while Stonehill remains at No. 8. C. W. Post from the ECC moves to No. 3 and Dowling holds at No. 10. Limestone, from the Conference Carolinas, is the week’s biggest mover, jumping two spots to No. 2.
In games between ranked opponents this week, the No. 2 Saints face No. 6 West Chester in Salem, Virginia on Thursday, March 10.
The next weekly poll will be released on Mar. 14.

IWLCA Division III Poll, Week 2
Salisbury remains on top of poll

The Salisbury SeaGulls perch at No. 1 for a third consecutive ranking this week in the polls, picking up an additional first-place vote to stay ahead of No. 2 Hamilton. The same 20 schools remain in the poll from Week 1, with Washington & Lee moving up three spots to sit just outside the top-10 at No. 11 as the Generals are the fastest movers on the week. TCNJ picked up a couple votes to sit tied with Franklin & Marshall for the No. 3 spot.
For a third consecutive poll, the NESCAC tied the record with seven schools in the rankings, with three in the top-10 as Trinity moved up one spot to No. 6, and Colby and Williams held steady at 7-8. Tufts slid to No. 13, while Middlebury (No. 15), Amherst (No. 17), and Bowdoin (No. 19) hold their ground respectively.
The Capital Athletic Conference ranks second with three schools, starting with the No. 1 SeaGulls. Salisbury is joined by No. 18 Mary Washington and No. 20 Stevenson.
The Centennial Conference and the Liberty League both have two schools representing them. Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg remain in the top-five at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively. Hamilton holds steady at No. 2 and Union moves to No. 12.
Six conferences are represented by one institution each. TCNJ from the NJAC rises to No. 3, while the SUNYAC’s Cortland moves to No. 7. Stevens of the Empire 8 rounds out the top-10 at No. 10, while Catholic of the Landmark moves to No. 13. The ODAC’s Washington & Lee rises to No. 11 while Babson from the NEWMAC holds at No. 16.
On Wednesday, March 9, a key CAC and national game takes place as No. 18 Mary Washington travels to face conference rival and top-ranked Salisbury. On Saturday, March 12, four games feature two ranked teams, including a pair of NESCAC games as No. 9 Williams hosts No. 8 Colby and No. 13 Tufts travels to No. 17 Amherst. The No. 1 SeaGulls are on the road at No. 11 Washington & Lee and No. 20 Stevenson travels to face No. 3 Franklin & Marshall. On Sunday, the No. 4 Lions of TCNJ host the No. 7 Cortland Red Dragons.
