IWLCA Releases Week 11 Polls
IWLCA Division I Poll, Week 11
Maryland holds on to No. 1 and reclaims all 20 first-place votes

Maryland held
on to the top spot in this week’s poll, and Northwestern
moved back up to the No. 2 spot after winning the American Lacrosse
Conference tournament. Harvard moved into the rankings for the
first time in 2011 after a runner-up finish at the Ivy League
tournament, giving the Ivy League four ranked schools.
The Atlantic Coast Conference leads all conferences with five ranked schools, starting with No. 1 Maryland. North Carolina moves to No. 3 and Duke stays at No. 5, while Boston College (No. 13) and Virginia (No. 14) both drop one spot from last week.
The American Lacrosse Conference and the Ivy Group both feature four ranked schools. The ALC’s Northwestern moves up to No. 2, while Florida remains at No. 4. Ohio State and Penn State both move up from last week, tying for the No. 15 spot in the poll. Penn is the highest-ranked Ivy school at No. 9, with Dartmouth (No. 11) and Princeton (No. 12) close behind; Harvard moved into the ranking at No. 20.
The Big East’s three schools are led by No. 6 Loyola; Syracuse (No. 17) and Georgetown (No. 18) both dropped two spots from last week.
Stanford, the MPSF champion, moved to No. 7 while the America East champion Albany Great Danes rose to No. 8. Massachusetts from the Atlantic-10 moved up one spot to No. 19.
The NCAA tournament starts on Saturday. No. 2 Northwestern hosts No. 13 Boston College; No. 3 North Carolina welcomes No. 14 Virginia; No. 4 Florida takes on No. 7 Stanford at home, No. 5 Duke welcomes No. 9 Penn; No. 6 Loyola faces No. 19 Massachusetts; No. 8 Albany travels to face no. 11 Dartmouth, and No. 10 James Madison takes on No. 12 Princeton. Note that IWLCA rankings do not correspond with NCAA seeding numbers; the two are independent of each other.

IWLCA Division II Poll, Week 11
Reigning national champions enter NCAA tournament with all 15 first-place votes

The Adelphi Panthers and LeMoyne Dolphins, fresh off their contest for the Northeast-10 crown, remain at No. 1 and No. 2 in the final poll for the IWLCA for the 2011 season. The Panthers, the NE-10 champions, kept all 15 first-place votes as the same 15 schools from the previous week were ranked in this week’s poll.
The PSAC continues to lead all conferences with six ranked schools in the poll; Lock Haven, the 2011 PSAC Champion, remains at No. 4 to lead the league. West Chester holds at No. 6, while Mercyhurst (No. 11), Gannon (No. 13), East Stroudsburg (No. 14) and Bloomsburg (No. 15) all hold their positions from last week.
The Northeast-10 claims five schools, including the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the nation. Stonehill moves to No. 9 while New Haven (No. 10) and Merrimack (No. 12) remain steady from last week.
The East Coast Conference stays in the rankings, with Dowling holding at No. 5 and C. W. Post moving up to No. 7. Limestone from the Conference Carolinas stays at No. 3, and Rollins, an independent school, moves up to a program-high No. 7.
On Saturday, the first round of the NCAA tournament takes place and No. 4 Lock Haven hosts No. 6 West Chester, while No. 2 LeMoyne travels to face No. 5 Dowling. Next week, the top-ranked Panthers will take on the winner of the LeMoyne/Dowling game while No. 3 Limestone will face the winner of the Lock Haven/West Chester contest in the NCAA semifinals. IWLCA Division III Poll, Week 11
TCNJ maintains hold on first place; Trinity earns two first-place votes

As the teams enter NCAA and ECAC play, the Lions of TCNJ find themselves ranked No. 1 in the final IWLCA poll of the 2010 season, with the Bantams of Trinity sitting right behind them at No. 2. Trinity picked up a pair of first-place votes as the two undefeated teams sit on top of the poll. The same 20 teams from last week’s poll remained in this week’s edition, with the top seven schools remaining in the same order from last week.
The NESCAC, who enjoyed a record-breaking season with eight teams ranked at one point, has seven ranked schools in the final poll, led by No. 2 Trinity. Colby moves up to No. 8, while Bowdoin starts off the second half of the poll at No. 11. Tufts (No. 13) and Middlebury (No. 14) swap spots from last week, while Amherst (No. 18) and Bates (No. 20) both moved down one spot from last week.
The Centennial Conference, the Middle Atlantic Conferences, and the Capital Athletic Conference each claim two schools in the poll. Franklin & Marshall (No. 6) and Gettysburg (No. 7) from the Centennial Conference both hold steady from last week. Messiah from the MAC remains at No. 12 and conference-mate Elizabethtown moves up one spot to No. 17. The CAC’s Salisbury remains at No. 5 and Mary Washington also rises one spot to No. 19.
Seven different conferences are each represented by one school. TCNJ from the NJAC remains at No. 1, and the Liberty League’s Hamilton (No. 2) and the SUNYAC’s Cortland (No. 3) both hold from last week after winning their respective conference tournaments. Catholic won the Landmark tournament and moved to No. 9, while Stevens from the Empire 8 also won its conference tournament and remained in the top-10, holding at No. 10. Washington & Lee won the ODAC and remained at No. 15, while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps moved up to No. 16.
The NCAA tournament starts on Wednesday. No. 9 Catholic hosts No. 19 Mary Washington, and No. 3 Hamilton hosts Brockport (RV). Note that IWLCA rankings do not correspond with NCAA seeding numbers; the two are independent of each other.
