2018 IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll – March 5, 2018
Stony Brook University (4-0) held onto the top spot in the IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll after taking down Northwestern 15-10 in a road contest over the weekend. Maryland (4-1) stays put at number two, while Florida (4-1) and Boston College (7-0) move into the third and fourth position. North Carolina (3-2) drops to #5 after losing to Florida. The University of Virginia (5-0) used a one-goal victory over Syracuse to jump up to the sixth spot in the poll. James Madison (5-0) remains at #7, and Syracuse (3-1), Northwestern (4-2), and Towson (3-0) round out the top 10.
Top-25 action this week starts off on Wednesday when #20 Denver hosts Virginia Tech (#24), Penn State (#17) visits #7 James Madison, Loyola (#16) welcomes #10 Towson to campus, Boston College (#4) and Southern California (#12) tangle on the west coast, and #3 Florida visits the Carrier Dome to face Syracuse (#8). The weekend begins on Friday when Stanford (#18) faces #19 Colorado, then continues with Princeton (#14) at Loyola, and #5 North Carolina at Virginia (#6) on Saturday. Matchups on Sunday include #2 Maryland at Syracuse and Notre Dame (#15) at Virginia Tech.

The 2018 Coaches Poll has been expanded to include 25 teams in all three NCAA Divisions this year in order to more accurately reflect the growth of the game at the collegiate level in recent years. The Coaches Polls are published every Monday during the regular season.
