As the head coach of the first women's lacrosse team at EMU, the head coach is responsible for the development of the program by promoting the program, building relationships, recruiting the student athletes and educating the campus and community.
POSITION SUMMARY: As the head coach of the first women's lacrosse team at EMU, the head coach is responsible for the development of the program by promoting the program, building relationships, recruiting the student athletes and educating the campus and community The head coach will recruit during the 2018-2019 year with the goal to begin varsity competition in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in 2019-2020.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The head coach is responsible to coach, direct, recruit and administer the women's lacrosse program along with other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. He/she must be committed to the values and mission of the university and operate the program in adherence to the rules and regulations of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and Division Ill of the NCAA.
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of successful high school coaching required. Collegiate coaching preferred with recruiting experience.
Special Skills: Skills required include recruiting, practice and match planning, teaching techniques and strategies, effective use of technology, administrative and budget operations, relational skills with high school and college students .
POSITION DETAILS: The head women's lacrosse coaching position is a three-quarter time position with full benefits. Preferred start date of May 1, 2018.
