IWLCA Fast Break Players of the Week – April 19, 2017

 

The IWLCA is pleased to announce the Fast Break Players of the Week for April 19, 2017:

Division I Offensive Player of the WeekAlyssa Parrella, Hofstra

Parrella lit up the stat sheet against two ranked opponents last week, registering nine goals, three assists, nine ground balls, seven draw controls, and two caused turnovers, against James Madison and Towson. The freshmen helped the Pride go 1-1 on the week, picking up a win against #13 Towson.

Division I Defensive Player of the WeekErin Leghart, Albany

Leghart posted 14 saves and a .538 save percentage to lead the Great Danes last week. The freshman netminder also picked up seven ground balls in the two games to earn ranked win over #8 Cornell, and a win against league foe New Hampshire.

Division II Offensive Player of the WeekHunter Isnardi, Mercy

Mercy went 2-0 on the week, and Isnardi contributed ten goals, one assist, and a mind-boggling 26 draw controls to the team effort. The midfielder also chipped in six ground balls as her squad downed Philadelphia and St. Thomas Aquinas.

Division II Defensive Player of the WeekTatiana Petteway, East Stroudsburg

Petteway tallied 34 saves (.607 save percentage) in goal for ESU in a pair of wins last week, including 22 saves against #10 Mercyhurst. Earlier in the week she recorded 12 saves against Shippensburg.

Division III Offensive Player of the WeekSasha Fritts, Colby

Fritts scored 12 goals on 15 shots over two games as the Mules downed #8 Bowdoin, 18-9, and Williams 15-12. The junior attacker added two ground balls, one draw control, and a caused turnover to the Colby effort.

Division III Defensive Player of the WeekElizabeth Morrison, TCNJ

Morrison led a Lion defense that limited two opponents to a combined 11 shots and three goals last week. She totaled five ground balls, six draw controls, three caused turnovers, and an assist in wins against Rutgers-Camden and #11 Salisbury.

Two players from each NCAA Division are chosen as the Fast Break Players of the Week and announced during the broadcast of “Fast Break: IWLCA College Lacrosse Weekly” on Lax Sports Network. The show will air at 7:30 pm EDT on Wednesdays throughout the season.
