2016 IWLCA Division III Poll – May 9, 2016

Cortland (18-0) claimed the top spot in the IWLCA Division III Coaches Poll, sweeping all 20 first place votes, after claiming the 2016 SUNYAC Championship and earning the top seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Red Dragons will have a bye in the first-round before facing the winner of the game between Keene State and Castleton on May 15. Gettysburg (16-2) moved into the top four after taking down Franklin & Marshall 6-5 to claim the Centennial Conference Championship, and waits for the winner of the NCAA first-round matchup between William Smith and Roger Williams. Middlebury (17-1) also bumped up a spot to #5 after avenging an earlier loss to Trinity in the NESCAC Championship, and will face the victor of the NCAA game between FDU-Florham and SUNY Polytechnic. St. John Fisher (#18) and Washington & Lee (#20) are the new faces in this week’s poll, as both teams secured bids to the upcoming NCAA Tournament and will play Calvin and Mt. Union respectively. The full NCAA Division III tournament bracket can be found here.
