2016 IWLCA Coaches' Polls for the week of March 14
The 2015 defending national champions all held onto the number one spot in their respective divisional polls this week. For the sixth week of the regular season, the Maryland Terrapins collected 20 first place votes to stay at the top of the Division I poll. Adelphi swept all 20 first place votes to solidify their lock on the top spot in the Division II coaches poll. SUNY Cortland also remained number one in the Division III poll with all 20 first place votes.
The IWLCA Communications committee, which oversees the coaches’ polls, has added a new feature for the 2016 season. Following the coaches’ poll release each week, the IWLCA will conduct a “Fan Poll” on Twitter, giving everyone the opportunity to weigh in on the order of the top four teams. The Division I Fan Poll on Twitter (@IWLCA), will be posted on Tuesdays at noon, EST; the Division II Fan Poll on Twitter (@IWLCA), will be posted on Wednesdays at noon, EST; and the Division III Fan Poll on Twitter (@IWLCA), will be posted on Thursdays at noon, EST. Voting for each fan poll will remain open for 24 hours.
The next IWLCA Weekly Poll will be released on March 21, 2016 for all three divisions.
