The IWLCA Outreach Committee is seeking applicants for Project IRM 2011

Project IRM 2011

The IWLCA Outreach Committee is seeking applicants for Project IRM 2011; a professional development opportunity for minority women’s lacrosse coaches.  This is the third year of the program that identifies, recruits, and mentors minority women who are interested in pursuing a collegiate coaching career.

Participants of Project IRM will be provided with a trip to the US Lacrosse Convention, a collegiate coach mentor, professional development conference calls, a Project IRM banquet and opportunities to grow minorities in the sport.

College seniors, recent college graduates, current graduate students and current collegiate coaches are eligible to apply. Candidates must be female and preference will be given to ethnic/minority applicants.

Candidates will be evaluated on their commitment to coaching women’s lacrosse and availability to attend the US Lacrosse National Convention in Baltimore, MD.  This year the convention will be January 21-23, 2011.

Applications include a questionnaire and short statement about why you would like to be part of Project IRM and how being a minority has affected your lacrosse career or life.  Interested candidates can apply online and applications will be reviewed as submitted.  Applications must be completed by Sunday, December 12, 2010

The IWLCA Outreach Committee is also seeking mentors for Project IRM.  Mentors will be provided with all of the benefits of the Project IRM participants.  Qualified mentors are experienced coaches who are interested in helping develop young minority coaches as they start their career.  Please contact Jennifer Wong at jennifer.wong@temple.edu if you are interested.
