THE IWLCA ANNOUNCES THE 2010 PRESIDENTS CUP RECRUITING TOURNAMENT
The IWLCA, working in conjunction with Corrigan Sports Enterprises, Inc. (CSE), is proud to announce the creation of the deBeer President’s Cup presented by the IWLCA. The ultimate girls club lacrosse tournament will coincide with the association’s annual meeting in beautiful Naples, Fla. and take place from November 20th-21st, 2010.
IWLCA President Kristen Selvage said, “I’m thrilled CSE, deBeer and Under Armour were able to step up and help us relocate our annual meeting and simultaneously add a two-day tournament that promises to be a five-star experience in Naples for everyone in attendance. The incredible weather and the prospect of playing in front of so many college coaches should attract some of the best student-athletes and clubs our sport has to offer.”
The tournament hopes to attract 100 club teams from across the U.S. Teams will be comprised of student-athletes from the graduating classes of 2011, 2112 and 2013 only. This will be a four game round robin tournament.
The tournament will be held on 12 lit fields at the multi-million dollar North Collier Regional Park. The Sun-N-Fun Lagoon is also located inside the park and its one million gallons of water offer hours of fun for children and adults of all ages.
Gothard Lane, IWLCA Executive Director, said, “I visited the North Collier Regional Park earlier this year and was blown away by the complex, its Bermuda athletic turf fields and the water park. I suspect word will travel fast about this destination and I know the IWLCA coaches will appreciate the first-class event CSE will put on for everyone.”
CSE is best known in the lacrosse community for its management of the annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic. CSE owns and operates the prestigious event which has attracted top senior and underclass student-athletes since its inception in 2006.
“As a lacrosse coach myself, I know what college coaches are looking for when they visit a tournament,” said Lee Corrigan, President of CSE. “For example, we’ll provide each coach with a detailed recruiting booklet that will have information on each player in the tournament.”
CSE arranged for discounts with area hotels, JetBlue Airlines, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car through the Sports Council of Collier County.
